The Fort Bridger Ranch

About Us

Norma and Joe Hopkinson passed the Fort Bridger Ranch onto their son, Scott, in 2001. Scott and Chris live in Salt Lake City. Scott was born on the Fort Bridger Ranch and this property is near and dear to his heart.

We have four children, Coby, Beau, Brooke and Cassie, and eight grandchildren. We enjoy sharing the ranch with all of you for the Rendezvous and will do all we can to keep the Tin Tipi area available to the public for as long as there is a need.

From our family to yours . . . Thank you!  The Scott Hopkinson Family

Linda Hirschberg, Scott's sister, was also born and raised on the ranch. She lives in Iowa, but wanted to join us in 2012 to help.  She was so excited to be back on the ranch again. We called her the energizer bunny, as she never sat down and was always so cheerful and happy to help in any way she could. She's been with us every year since then.

This poem, Spirit and Heart, she wrote while at the 2012 Rendezvous.

We love you Linda. We love having you come all that way to help us!

Spirit and Heart

At the Wyoming Rendezvous
men, women and children
dress the part as they celebrate
years gone by.

Kids with imaginations
as big as the Rockies,
laugh and romp
in the creek, willows and grass.

A seasoned mountain man at heart
sits on a worn wooden chair
draped with a coyote skin.
His long white beard
adorns the twinkle in his eyes.

Behind the scene,
through the smoke of the campfires,
I visualize the spirit and heart of the wild west
and the mountain men that roamed free.

Todd was kind enough to help us with the Tin Tipi Camping in 2015 when Scott was unable to be with us because of a surgery.

THANK YOU TODD, we couldn't have done it without you. You are awesome!
